Giving

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

- Matthew 6:21

Why we give

1. We are called to be good stewards of our community, with the gifts we receive we mobilize our ministries!
Our missions involve; backpacks for those in foster care, rent/utility financial support, and our food pantry. (but wait there's more!) Bottom line? Giving helps us help othe

“In the hands of [God’s] children, [money] is food for the hungry, drink for the thirsty, raiment for the naked: It gives to the traveller and the stranger where to lay his head. By it we may supply the place of an husband to the widow, and of a father to the fatherless. We may be a defence for the oppressed, a means of health to the sick, of ease to them that are in pain; it may be as eyes to the blind, as feet to the lame; yea, a lifter up from the gates of death!”

2.  It's for you to grow closer with God.

"The Bible tells us that tithing is a way to show that we trust God with our lives and our finances. Ready for a truth bomb? Tithing isn’t for God’s benefit. He doesn’t need our money. Instead, tithing is meant for our benefit because sacrificing a portion of our income reminds us to rely on God to meet our needs. Plus it makes us more aware of the needs of others too."
-Dave Ramsey

3. God calls us to Give.

God answers the question "What does the Lord want me to do? How does God want me to give of myself to the church? I love Christ as the Lord of my life, so I’m listening for how he leads me.”

Myrene Peterson, an organist, has worshiped with her congregation for forty years. Reflecting on this experience, she said: “Every soul has a way in which it can be enhanced in the walk with the Lord. Everyone has a different way of being filled with the Holy Spirit. When people feel that they can grow in the Lord, the rest of it (a desire to give) comes.”
