McCurdy School is one of only three remaining United Methodist mission schools in the United States.
Medina United Methodist Church has supported Dee Dee Heffner's work at McCurdy School in a Covenant Relationship for over a decade. As our church has grown, our support for Mrs. Heffner has grown also. We are currently contributing $2,500 per year through the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church toward Mrs. Heffner’s support.
McCurdy School’s 40 acre campus in New Mexico is thriving with activities year round. Beginning with early childhood development, a K-12 Christian School offers a full range of academic and sport programs.
Project Carino’s (mental health counseling program) addresses the special needs of youth and adults who are affected by the rampant substance abuse in this upper Rio Grande River area.
McCurdy School’s programs are tailored to the needs of the local population, the majority of which are of Spanish-Indian descent. Crisis and anger management counseling are a very necessary part of the services offered to the youth of the community.
We as a church and as individuals, through support of Mrs. Heffner, help in providing funding for the many ministry outreaches of the United Methodist Church at Espanola, N.M.
