Flat Rock was founded in 1886 to provide for the needs of post-civil war orphans, Flat Rock has provided care for persons with special needs.
In 1978, Flat Rock’s ministry was refined to provide care for those youth and adults who are mentally/emotionally challenged. Persons from across Ohio are placed here for comprehensive treatment and care which is unavailable elsewhere.
The 500 acre campus of Flat Rock Homes and Care Center offers the individual served an opportunity to enjoy a quiet life focusing on developing skills and growing an independent life style. This quiet country setting offers a safe environment and treatment programs developed to serve the individual. The direct care staff work one-on-one with the residents to give them the best possible care.
Medina United Methodist Church supports this agency of the United Methodist Church through yearly contributions from our Mission Outreach Budget and individually through special donations and gifts.
